| Highlanders win in Saint John | ||||
December 30, 2009 - The MacNaughton Highlanders claimed the high school division of the Saint John Irving Oil Christmas tournament with a 5-2 victory over the St. Malachy's Saints in the championship game. Curtis Leet and Jeremy Melanson each scored twice for the winners while Aaron Vautour had the other. Rob Gale and Jesse Prescott scored for the Saints. In semi-final action, the Highlanders edged Riverview 1-0 on James Donovan's overtime goal. St. Malachy's defeated Sussex 2-0 on goals from Matt Parks and Rob Gale. |

December 6, 2009 - The Mathieu-Martin Matadors defeated the Leo Hayes Lions 5-1 to win the Université de Moncton tournament. Marc Johnson (2), Joël Léger, Ben Thébeau and Jérémie Doucet had the goals for the Matadors while Marc Robichaud replied for the Lions. In Miramichi, the MacNaughton Highlanders edged Aux-Quatre-Vents Cyclones 6-5 to capture the Green and Gold Cup tournament. Brandon Lamb, Kyle Chapman, Jeremy Melanson, Zach Robichaud, Curtis Leet and James Donovan each had a goal for the Highlanders. The goal scorers for the Cyclones were Jeremy Pelletier (3), Nicholas LeBlanc and Lee Levesque. |

March 22, 2009 - On Saturday, Cody Gardner’s three goals helped L’Odyssée defeat Népisiguit (ESN) 6-4. Mathieu Poirier, Denis Allain and Christopher Léger also scored for the Olympiens. With three goals from Justin Légère and two from Justin Babineau, Louis-J-Robichaud edged Louis-Mailloux 5-4. The Patriotes followed with a 5-1 win against L’Odyssée in Sunday’s final. Guy Belliveau 3, Ryan Cormier and Joël LeBlanc had Louis-J-Robichaud’s goals while Denis Allain scored for L’Odyssée. Leo Hayes and Fredericton High will join the Olympiens and the Patriotes at next weekend’s provincial championship in Shediac. | Olympiens and Patriotes advance to North-East regionals | ||||
March 19, 2009 - L’Odyssée and Louis-J-Robichaud will be playing in the north-east regionals this weekend in Beresford. On Saturday at 12:30pm, L’Odyssée will face Népisiguit (ESN) followed by Louis-Mailloux and Louis-J-Robichaud at 3:00pm. The final will take place Sunday at 9:30am. Both finalists, along with two teams from the south-west regionals, will earn a spot at the provincial championship which will be held on March 27th and 28th at the Festival arena in Shediac. |

| Subway joins ECHSHL | ||||
January 13, 2009 - We are pleased to announce that Subway has joined the Eastern Conference High School Hockey League as the major sponsor. Part of the deal involves $1000 scholarships that will be awarded to two players of the league at the end of the season. The official launching of the sponsorship will take place prior to the game between the Louis-J-Robichaud Patriotes and the MacNaughton Hylanders on Wednesday January 14 at 7:30pm at the Moncton Coliseum. |

September 18, 2008 - Robert (Bob) Johnson is the Mathieu-Martin Matadors' new head coach. Johnson was an assistant coach with the team last season and he was the coach of the Dieppe/Memramcook Bantam AA during the previous two seasons. |

| Cavaliers loses provincial tournament final in OT | ||||
March 30, 2008 - Julien Bellefleur of the Leo Hayes Lions scored his second goal of the game 14 seconds into overtime to help his team defeat the Clément-Cormier Cavaliers 6-5 in the provincial tournament's final. The other goal scorers for the Lions were Nick Boudreau, Jeff McKinley, Jake Thomas, and Cody Stewart. Kevin Cormier (2), Luc Bourque, Matthew Cormier, and Jocelyn Dallaire replied for the Cavaliers. The Louis-J-Robichaud Patriotes were eliminated following a 6-1 lost to the Lions on Saturday. |

Wildcats used their 12th round pick of the 2007 QMJHL’s Entry Draft
to select Pier-Luc Brousseau of the Mathieu-Martin Matadors. Luc LeBlanc,
formerly of the Louis-J-Robichaud Patriotes, was the 12th round selection
of the Saint John Sea Dogs. This past season, he played with the Moncton
Flyers of the NB/PEI Major Midget AAA Hockey League. |

| Patriotes win provincial title | ||||
April 1, 2007 - The Louis-J-Robichaud Patriotes doubled the Leo Hayes Lions 4-2 to capture the provincial AAA championship. The Patriotes lost 6-5 (OT) to the Fredericton Black Kats in their first game but rebounded with a 7-2 win over the Kennebecasis Valley Crusaders in their second game to secure a spot in the final after the Crusaders had defeated the Black Kats. The Mathieu-Martin Matadors lost both their games, 2-1 to the Népisiguit Rebelles and 6-1 to the Lions. |

March 26, 2007 - The Mathieu-Martin Matadors have been awarded a wild card to participate in the provincial tournament to be held from March 29th to April 1st in Fredericton. The Matadors will join Louis-J-Robichaud Patriotes, Népisiguit Rebelles, Fredericton Black Kats, Leo Hayes Lions who are the winners of the cross-over series between the conferences and the second wild card, Kennebecasis Valley Crusaders. March 5, 2007 - The Harrison Trimble Trojans lost their second consecutive game in Slovakia, this time 5-2 to Banska Bystrica. The score was tied 1-1 after the first and Banska Bystrica was ahead 3-2 after the second. The shots were 33-31 for Banska Bystrica. Geoff Pellerin and Justin LeBlanc scored for the Trojans while Mark LeBlanc and Matt Jones shared the goaltending duties. Their next game will be Wednesday, March 7th, against Zvolen. |

March 4, 2007 - The Harrison Trimble Trojans lost their first game in Slovakia 3-1 to HK Brezno. The Trojans trailed 3-0 after the first and 3-1 after the second. The shots were 28-22 for the Trojans who had a strong third period with 15 shots and giving up only 6. Kyle Reade scored the only goal for the Trojans while Mark LeBlanc and Matt Jones shared the goaltending duties. They will play Banska Bystrica on Monday March 5th. |

January 22, 2007 - The Mathieu-Martin Matadors participated in a tournament in Winnipeg during the Christmast holidays. Teams from Manitoba, Nova-Scotia, Ontario, Alberta and the United-States participated in this tournament. The Matadors ended up losing in the final against the #1 ranked team in Manitoba, St-Paul's. |

| New coaches for Cavaliers, Patriotes and Matadors | ||||
September 12, 2006 - The Cavaliers, Patriotes and Matadors will all have new coaches when the coming season starts. Marc LeBlanc was named coach of the Clément-Cormier Cavaliers after last year’s coach, Denis Robichaud, decided to resign in order to concentrate more on the school’s soccer team. Gilles Saulnier and André Richard will be assistant coaches with LeBlanc, who was an assistant coach with the team last season. The Louis-J-Robichaud Patriotes had to look for a new coach after Stéphane LeBlanc accepted an assistant coach position with the Moncton Beavers of the MJAHL. Kris Dupuis was the person selected and he will have Patrick Léger and Rodrigue Poirier as his assistants. Dupuis has coached the Shediac Jr C team and has also been an assistant coach with the Moncton Midget AAA Flyers in the past. Finally, Denis Léger who will be assisted by Kevin Bourque will coach the Mathieu-Martin Matadors. Léger was the coach of the Kent-South PeeWee AA team during the 2004-05 season and was also coach of the Eastern PeeWee AAA Attack during the springs of 2003 to 2005. This coaching change was needed after Rick Tessier resigned for family reasons. |

| Royals have new coach | ||||
October 25, 2005 - Allan
Carson has been named new head coach of the Riverview High Royals. He
replaces Tim Smith who is now an assistant coach with the Moncton Beavers
of the MJAHL. During the 2004-05 season, Carson was the coach of the Moncton
Bantam AA Red Hawks. Ray Murray, Brian Lewis and Dwayne Lewis will be
the assistant coaches. |

October 23, 2005 - The 2005-06 regular season will begin on Thursday November 3rd with two games. The Harrison Trimble Trojans will be in Shediac to play against the Louis-J-Robichaud Patriotes at 7:45pm at the Festival arena while the Tantramar Titans will visit the league’s new team, L’Odyssée Olympiens, at 8:30pm at the J-Louis-Levesque arena. Each of the 9 teams will play a schedule of 24 games. |
