May 28, 2005 - Two Eastern
Conference players were selected by the Moncton Beavers during the 2005
MJAHL draft. Justin Dubroy of the Louis-J-Robichaud Patriotes was taken
in the 3rd round while Zach Tessier of the Mathieu-Martin Matadors was
a 7th round pick. The Beavers also selected Mathieu LeBlanc of the Moncton
Flyers (midget AAA) in the 1st round (8th overall). LeBlanc is a former
player of the Louis-J-Robichaud Patriotes. |

| $9200 raised for the Cyr family | |||
February 20, 2005 - $9200 was raised for the Cyr family trust fund during the Mathieu-Martin Matadors game against the Moncton High Purple Knights played on Saturday February 19th at the Arthur J LeBlanc Centre. 600 people were in attendance. |

| Trust fund for Matadors player's family | |||

February 18, 2005 - On Feb. 17th, a tragic house fire has taken place at the residence occupied by Jean-Daniel Cyr of the Mathieu-Martin Matadors. Donald Cyr, the father of J-D, has lost his life in the fire. J-D has been hospitalized due to serious burn injuries. |

Dusty Carroll (coach of the MacNaughton Highlanders) and his wife,
Genetta Carroll have established a Trust Fund through the TD Bank for
the immediate and long term needs of the family.
Mark’s Work Wearhouse and Maritime Cresting will be accepting donations for the Cyr family. Cheques should be made payable to "The Cyr Family Trust". Mark’s Work Wearhouse is located at 125 Trinity Drive and 459 Paul St. in Dieppe and Maritime Cresting is located at 242 High St. in Moncton. |

| High School Classic Begins Wednesday | |||
January 31, 2005 - The Moncton High School Hockey Classic Tournament will begin Wednesday February 2nd with games beginning at 4:00pm at the Byron Dobson arena in Riverview. The Greco skills competition will be held on Friday evening at the Tim Hortons 4-Ice Centre. More information is available in the High School Classic section. |

January 16, 2005 - Mike Yeomans (RHS) scored two goals to help Team East to a 6-3 victory over Team West. Other scorers were Justin Dubroy (LJR), Luc G LeBlanc (LJR), Michael LeBlanc (LJR) and Scott Bourque (MHS). Mike Thomas (OHS), Ryan Daley (FHS) and Drew Murray (LH) replied for Team West. Players of the game were Mike Yeomans (RHS) for Team East and Mike Thomas (OHS) for Team West. |

June 27, 2004 - Former Louis-J-Robichaud Patriotes player, Kevin Cormier, was drafted in the 6th round of the 2004 NHL draft (168 overall) by the Phoenix Coyotes. Cormier played the 2003-04 season with the Moncton Beavers of the MJAHL collecting 3 goals, 5 points and 250 penalty minutes in 43 games. He is expected to play with the Halifax Mooseheads of QMJHL during the coming season. |

| Lions defeat Matadors in fundraiser game for the Tree of Hope | |||
December 14, 2003 - Dean Perley had two goals to help the Leo Hayes Lions double the Mathieu-Martin Matadors 6-3. The Lions’ other scorers were Troy Bishop, Chris Gardiner, Curtis Vautour and Mitch Price. Jean-Benoit Bergevin, Jean-Daniel Cyr and Mathieu Melanson replied for the Matadors. Nick Murrins was in goal for the Lions while Andrew Courteau and Michel Breau shared the goaltending duties for the Matadors. Shots were 35-27 in favor of Leo Hayes. More than $1000 was raised for the Tree of Hope. |

December 13, 2003 - Rémi Gautreau (LJR) scored three goals to give Team East a 3-0 lead before Team West replied with six unanswered goals to win the game 6-3. Michel Lavoie (CdJ) had two goals for Team West while other scorers were Alain St-Onge (CdJ), Sean Davies (OHS), Josh Barrett (FHS) and Matt Foster (LHHS). Players of the game were Rémi Gautreau (LJR) for Team East and Jason Turgeon (CdJ) for Team West. |

| Matadors will take on Leo Hayes Lions in a fundraiser game for the Tree of Hope | |||
December 8, 2003 - The Mathieu-Martin Matadors Hockey Team will be host to the Leo Hayes Lions on Sunday December 14th and money raised from the event will be going directly to the Dr Leon Richard Oncology Centre for research and services for cancer patients. The match-up will be presented at 1:45pm at the Arthur-J.-Leblanc arena in Dieppe. Special thanks to the City of Dieppe for donating the ice time and to the referees who will be doing the game on a voluntary basis. |
